The benefits of being weak

I was feeling so tired lately to point that I was struggling to get out of bed. Call it depression, laziness, tiredness, I do not know. But I just could not find any strength or motivation to get through the day. Then I read one of my favorite verses from 2nd Corinthians 12:8-10 which states: Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That I s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. Going through things really makes you appreciate the truthfulness of the word of God. So I prayed for God to renew my strength as He promised to do so through the prophet Isaiah saying: He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in [or wait on] the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29-31) I Am not going to lie to you. That renewal of energy did not come immediately. I had to wait about a day or two, but I can attest to the fact that He did eventually fill me with a power and strength beyond what is normal to the point that it can only be ascribed to nothing else but His Holy Spirit. And that I s the point of it all. You will never really realize the reality of His presence and intervention in your life until you reach the point where you have no other way to press on except by His help and power. For only in that circumstance can He truly get the glory and honor that He rightly deserves. And that there is true meaning of the words of Jesus, My power works best in weakness. For when we are weak, then God shows how strong and present He really is in our lives. So why not turn to Him now if this is you, and just see if He will not turn up in your behalf in Jesus name.
