Are you willing to risk everything?

Proverbs 4:7 says: “Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding.”
In some cases, getting understanding may cost you all of your possessions. I remember so many times that I had to abandon plans that I expanded so much energy and resources to build after finding out that it was not God’s will. In fact, even Jesus said, "Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62) What aspiration, idea, religion, possession, person, occupation, activity or sin is God telling you to let go off right now but you keep looking back to? Don’t be like Lot’s wife...(Luke 17:32)
We are much like trees and we all need a pruning from time to time. God’s intention is to clean you from all those things that are not doing you or others any good so that you can be more fruitful. Jesus said, “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.” (John 15:26)
“For Yahweh disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child." (Hebrews 12:6)
