I love Jehovah’s witnesses but I must sadly say that they are somewhat misguided. I say this honestly and with keen understanding because I actually used to be one. However, eventually we had to part ways based on differences in beliefs.
For one, they considered all other churches (i.e. Christendom) as an integral part of Babylon the Great (Revelations 17:5) which is believed to be the world empire of false religion. However, this is based on some failures in the...Read Full Post »

There once was a programmer who created a video game. When he designed it is was perfect and all the characters in the game lived forever in peace avoiding dangers. However, one day a virus started to spread in the program and the game became corrupted. The characters stopped responding to the controller commands and hurt/killed themselves as a result. There were a few characters in the game that would still respond to the controller but not fully and they eventually died as well. Eventually,...Read Full Post »

Oftentimes, we as christians have the tendency to think: "I can sin a little, cause the majority of my conduct is good; therefore, the clean outweighs the stink." This reasoning may be found in us whether we are new believers or Christians that have known the Lord for awhile. When we use the sins in our former life as a comparison to justify the sins we commit now in Christ, we fail to realize how much of a destructive power even a little sin may have in our lives. For as it is written in the...Read Full Post »

I had an interesting conversation with my cousin today on the topic of religion, sin, and other terms/obstacles that hinder some of us from coming to know God more intimately. As a result, I have decided to make these topics the subject of this and upcoming blogs as they are probably one of the most controversial, if not the most common, reasons why people say they just can't be cool with Jesus.
First of all, who is this man we call ...Read Full Post »

Have you ever wondered what you would do if you ever found yourself in the position where you were without shelter? Many believe that it cannot happen to them, but I have met a number of individuals over the years, through no fault of their own, unable to find proper housing. One thing that we must realize that although society in general looks down on transients, God does not. In fact, a homeless person is in good company for even our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was homeless ...Read Full Post »

I recently had the priviledge of watching the movie "12 Years A slave", and I must honestly say that no other film has broken my heart so many times in one showing as this one. 12 Years a Slave is a 2013 British-American historical drama film and an adaptation of the 1853 memoir Twelve Years a Slave by Solomon Northup, a New York State-born free African American man who was kidnapped in Washington, D.C., in 1841 and sold into slavery.(Source: Wikipedia) Each seen was riddl...Read Full Post »

There once was a woodpecker named Jungo. He was an incessant woodpecker and he would always peck the trees of the forest at odd hours of the day. Every animal in the jungle would wake up at the sound of the pecking to the point that they all wished him gone.
One day while at work, doing what woodpeckers do, a hunter came into the forest. He was seeking to catch the animals of the forest unaware, but to his dismay, ...Read Full Post »

For a long time now, I have been unproductive in various aspects of my life, namely: spiritually, occupationally, physically, socially, and mentally. Therefore, I think it is time to make a resolution to improve in these areas. However, I must soberly note that no amount of resolutions will change a course of living without the will power to follow through. We often look to external means as solutions whether it be praying to God, taking prescriptions, seeking encouragement fro...Read Full Post »

Bishop, Reverend, Father, Pastor, Sensei, & so on. Why do we feel that we have to add a title before our names in order for us to be identified as a minister of the gospel? I've even heard one brother say in the middle of a sermon, "Don't call me 'brother!' I'm your pastor!"Jesus was so much against this that He spoke about it specifically while here on earth. It is written:Read Full Post »

There are many lessons that we can learn from our master, Jesus Christ, particularly in the area of Evangilizing. I have decided to share a few lessons that I've learned from a famous account in the fouth chapter of the book of John, where Jesus interacts with a Samaritan woman by a well. I have listed the verses below, and the corresponding lessons that one can glean from them. Please follow along in your bibles:
John 4:6 - Throughout o...Read Full Post »
