Lamp Shades

They serve a purpose, namely: To Beautify The Light. There are so many different types to choose from. Different Colors, and shapes. Nevertheless, looking back at Jesus words in the book of Matthew Chapter 5 verse 15, I wonder if they are even necessary. Jesus said, "No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house." Aren't these shades just baskets? They...

Do you believe in the Trinity?

If you heard a sound and asked, "What or Who is that?" and someone said, "That's Bob!" Would you respond, "No, that's Bob's voice!" Eventhough, you would be right, the other person would be right also, because a person's voice is as much a part of him as his foot or hand. (1 Corinthians 12:15) Who determined that a person's being is limited solely to what is physically attached to the person? In God's case, that would be quite a limitation since He is a spiritual being. (John 4...

Super 8/ What do you seek First?

One word: Slow. Plot took too long to move and I found myself falling asleep in the middle of the movie. I once saw the end of the movie at a drive-in, but now I had the opportunity to rent it in the comfort of my own home. Although I couldn't sit through the entire middle part of it, I was still able to obtain a lesson from it. Namely, we should imitate those kid's sense of determination in the face of all obstacles. Despite the fact that the world was falling apart around the...

Chess Game (Romans 8:28 -29)

In this christian life, The Father is like a chess master and we are his chess pieces. Whatever your position, trust in his plan, & his hands. Since He is making the moves, we can't lose. Like Andy Mineo said, "These bars hard to explain, so I calculate my rhymes sort of like a chess game. I'm trying to balance all my art and theology, so when it comes out of me, I represent Him properly." Much like a chess game, there are times that we may feel, as his pieces, that we aren...

Suffer the Little Children/ Megamind

Why do we think so little of kids? (Mark 10:13, 14) Some have even gone to the point of trying to convince them that being bad is the best way to grow up to be successful. I've noticed some children's movies carrying this theme of Villains as superhero's, such as: Megamind. I enjoyed the movie because it reminded me of myself. I was Megamind. As a matter a fact, sometimes I still act like him: thinking that I'm smarter than God to my detriment. Like Nas said, "Some people are t...

The Potter (Romans 9:14-26)

These verses are mind blowing. They basically say that God, as a potter made each individual unique and for their own purpose. Even the wicked individual, God made him for a purpose, namely: to display the depths of His patience and the greatness of His love for us. So some may say, "God made the person wicked so God is wicked also since the individual can't resist His will." My answer to them is "Woa!" It is scary to even think of someone talking back to God, so I'm in dread e...

Fight Club/ Spirit Vs. Flesh

Which one is leading you? Let me give you a hint: Do your words and actions currently reflect what someone would do if Jesus was trying to portray himself through them? Like the Apostle Paul said, "Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life an...

Once Saved, Always Saved?

Posted by GFNSProductions on November 1, 2011 at 8:00 PM Comments comments (0)

It's funny how the discussion of 'Once Saved, Always Saved' often comes up when Christians get together. One group believes that salvation is entirely not up to us, but it is a gift from God that we receive once we accept it and can neither reject or mess it up after. They quote, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by...

The Beginning

This is my first of many blogs regarding the subjects of God, religion, and everything else pertaining to life in this fallen world. I enjoy writing. In fact, when I recollect over the days of my youth, I find that my most enjoyable times were spent writing in my book of rhymes. Sounds pretty nerdy, but I was always soft spoken so I often found it alot easier to convey my thoughts through the written word. I guess this early passion for writing, and consequently reading, helped...
